Retail software development for brands that have outgrown their platform

Shopify Plus, the marketplace plugin and the loyalty add-on got you to this size. Now inventory oversells across channels, the margin lives in three exports, and every new feature is a workaround. We build the commerce, order and customer systems around how you actually sell, apply AI where it pays, and leave you owning the stack.

The platform ceiling

What breaks first when you grow on a platform, and what we do about it

Shopify Plus, Magento and their peers are the right choice for most brands for a long time. Then one of these shows up. The honest answer is rarely "replace everything"; it is usually "move this one part".

AI in retail

Your customers already shop with AI. Your back office should too.

Shoppers ask assistants what to buy and compare prices in a chat window; most retailers still forecast in a spreadsheet and process returns by hand. The gap is where the margin is. We put AI to work on the operational side first (forecasting, orders, service) because that is where it pays back fastest, and we build it on top of the storefront and ERP you already run.

Where AI already pays in retail

Pain
What AI does
Result
Bestsellers sell out, slow movers pile up
Demand forecasting on your own sales, promo and seasonality history
Fewer stockouts, less dead stock
The same homepage for every visitor
Recommendation and personalisation on first-party data
Higher basket, higher repeat rate
Purchase orders, supplier invoices and returns arrive as PDFs
Document processing straight into the OMS and finance
Faster intake, fewer keying errors
Replenishment decided by gut feel per store
Replenishment prediction per SKU and location
Right stock in the right store
Support answers the same question all day
Service and operations copilots over orders, stock and policies
Faster answers; agents handle exceptions, not routine
Products invisible to AI shopping assistants
Structured catalogue data, feeds and content that assistants can read and cite
Found when the customer asks a chatbot, not only Google

Around the storefront you already have

A data layer under the storefront (orders, stock, customers in one place) and an AI layer on top: retrieval over product and policy data, agents for the routine order and service tasks, and the pipelines that keep it all current.

Measured on your numbers before it goes live

A forecast that is wrong costs real inventory. Every model we ship is back-tested on your history, guard-railed, and monitored in production.

FAQ

Questions retailers ask us

Do we have to leave Shopify Plus to work with you?

No. Most retail projects keep the storefront and move one part (orders and inventory, checkout and pricing, loyalty) into a custom service beside it. A full replatform is the exception, and when it is the right call we do it in phases so you never lose a season.

How much does custom retail software cost?

It depends on which system you start with and how many channels it has to serve. We scope the first piece at a fixed price after a short discovery; an OMS for three channels is a different budget from a headless storefront with B2B pricing, and we will tell you which you need first.

Can you connect to our POS, ERP and marketplaces?

Yes. Kopiika's loyalty platform runs as a layer over an existing CRM and 1C accounting, and most of our retail work connects storefront, POS, ERP and marketplace feeds into one order and inventory picture. We integrate before we replace.

Do you build B2B and dealer ordering as well as B2C?

Yes. Dealer ordering and a second brand can run on shared services beside the consumer store. Dealer and B2B portals are covered in detail on their own page.

How long until the first release?

A first usable piece typically goes live in three to five months, planned around your trading calendar. Anything touching checkout or inventory launches between seasons, never in the run-up to one.

Do we own the storefront and the data?

Yes. The code, the order and customer data and the roadmap are yours from day one. If you ever change partners or platforms, everything comes with you.

What happens next
  1. 1

We reply within 24 hours — with a time for a call.

  2. 2

An NDA — before you share sales or customer data, if you want one.

  3. 3

A discovery session — that follows one order through your systems.

  4. 4

A fixed-price proposal — for the first module, scheduled around your peak season.

What is the platform stopping you from doing this quarter?

A new channel, B2B pricing, a loyalty programme, one honest stock figure. Tell us which, and one call will show whether it is a module beside your platform or a reason to move.
