How much does a Shopify migration cost?+
Anywhere from a few thousand for a small catalogue on a stock theme, to a substantial project for a large store with custom integrations and a bespoke front end. What moves it: catalogue size, how many integrations need rebuilding, whether the design is being redesigned or reproduced, and how many URLs need mapping. The audit gives you a fixed price before you commit to the build.
How long does it take to migrate to Shopify?+
Weeks for a simple store. Months for a large catalogue with ERP integrations and a custom front end. The audit gives you a date, and the schedule is usually driven by integrations rather than by data.
Will we lose our Google rankings?+
Not if the URLs are mapped and redirected properly, which is the part automated tools do not cover. Every indexed URL gets a destination before launch, redirects go live at the switch, and we monitor daily for a month afterwards.
Can you migrate our order history?+
Yes, and in a state your team can still use rather than as flat records that break reporting. How far back you go is a decision worth making deliberately, because full history is not always worth what it costs.
Do we have to stop selling during the migration?+
No. The new store is built while the old one trades, data is synced again just before the switch, and the cutover is a DNS change rather than a shutdown.
Why not just use a migration app?+
For a small store on a stock theme with no integrations, an app may be all you need, and we will tell you so. It stops being enough when you have URLs to preserve, a design to rebuild, integrations to reconnect, or anything your old platform did that Shopify does not.
What happens to our apps and extensions?+
Each one gets a decision: a Shopify app that does the same job, custom code, or dropped. Plenty of extensions exist only to work around the old platform and have no reason to survive the move.
Can you migrate to Shopify Plus?+
Yes. Whether Plus is worth it depends on your order volume, how much you need checkout customisation, and whether you sell across several markets. We will go through that before you commit to the plan.
